Protocols for inducing homeostatic plasticity reflected in the corticospinal excitability in healthy human participants: A systematic review and meta?analysis

چکیده

Homeostatic plasticity complements synaptic by stabilising neural activity within a physiological range. In humans, homeostatic is investigated using two blocks of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) with an interval without between blocks. The aim this systematic review and meta-analysis was to investigate the effect induction protocols on motor evoked potentials (MEP) in healthy participants. Four databases were searched (Medline, Scopus, Embase Cochrane library). Studies describing application NIBS primary cortex no reporting changes corticospinal excitability MEP amplitude included. Thirty-seven reports 55 experiments (700 participants) Study quality considered poor overall, heterogeneity study size, sample designs. Two excitatory at produced response (decreased MEP) 0 30 min post-protocols, when compared single block. inhibitory duration 10 or less (increased There differences MEPs baseline MEPs. conclusion, produces up post-protocol. Improvements participant selection, sizes techniques are needed.

passivity in waiting for godot and endgame: a psychoanalytic reading

this study intends to investigate samuel beckett’s waiting for godot and endgame under the lacanian psychoanalysis. it begins by explaining the most important concepts of lacanian psychoanalysis. the beckettian characters are studied regarding their state of unconscious, and not the state of consciousness as is common in most beckett studies. according to lacan, language plays the sole role in ...

the search for the self in becketts theatre: waiting for godot and endgame

this thesis is based upon the works of samuel beckett. one of the greatest writers of contemporary literature. here, i have tried to focus on one of the main themes in becketts works: the search for the real "me" or the real self, which is not only a problem to be solved for beckett man but also for each of us. i have tried to show becketts techniques in approaching this unattainable goal, base...

Inducing homeostatic-like plasticity in human motor cortex through converging

24 Transcranial stimulation techniques have revealed homeostatic-like metaplasticity in the hand 25 area of the human primary motor cortex (M1HAND) that controls stimulation induced changes in 26 corticospinal excitability. Here we combined two interventional protocols which induce long27 term depression (LTD)-like or long-term potentiation (LTP)-like plasticity in left M1HAND 28 through differ...

The Role of Adrenergic Receptors on Neural Excitability and Synaptic Plasticity: A Narrative Review

Adrenergic receptors have an important role in neural excitability and synaptic plasticity. Despite a lot of studies on these receptors, their exact role in brain disorders accompanied with hyperexcitability has not been determined. There are also controversies on their role in synaptic plasticity. In this review article, the important studies done in this regard have been reviewed to achieve a...
